oracle 8.1.7 32 bit Release 3
système : IBM AIX 5.3

j'essaye d'installer Oracle 8 sur aix mais j'arrive pas à démarer l'install sachant que oracle 9.2.0.6 est déjà installé

j'applique le patch de metalink : p2896876_8174_AIX.zip
pour le rootpre.sh

je fixe mon display et je lance le runInstaller :

The Java RunTime Environment was not found at /tmp/OraInstall/jre/bin/jre. Hence, the Oracle Universal Installer cannot be run.
Please visit http://www.javasoft.com and install JRE version 1.1.8 or higher and try again.
: No such file or directory

il trouve pas la JRE ....
oracle 9 est déjà installé !!

Tu as bien décompressé le CD de la manière suivante :

Sélectionner tout - Visualiser dans une fenêtre à part

tar -cf - . | (cd /orainstall; tar -xf - )

si ton cdrom est monté sur /mount/cdrom et que ton répertoire d'install est /orainstall

cause: The CD-ROM contents are copied to disk using an inappropriate way



fix:

Re-copy the CD-ROM contents to disk as follows:
$ cd cdrom_location
$ tar -cf - . | (cd destination_directory; tar -xf - )

j'avais déjà donné ce contenu

Ce qu'il faut vérifier :

- Méthode de décompression du CD
- pas de rootpre.sh si version plus récente déjà installé
- JRE_LOCATION dans /Disk1/install/oraparam.ini
